Statement on Slavery and Human Trafficking
Africa Advancement forum (AAF) is committed to achieving sustainable results with our partners around the world. We bring a depth of expertise in strategy, operations, events, business meetings, advisory services, technology, and analytics to drive lasting and measurable results in the healthcare, technology, leadership, finance, agriculture, education, renewables/energy, oil & gas, industrialization, real estate, and commercial sectors. As an organization committed to strengthening governance, policy and international trade in Africa, by linking government and key private sectors players across board to foster the growth of the continent, we are committed to upholding the highest moral, ethical, and legal standards in everything we do. Our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics reinforces and enhances this commitment by setting out the standards and expectations regarding individual and business conduct. These expectations require our employees and volunteers to demonstrate ethical leadership and promote a work environment that upholds our reputation for integrity, ethical conduct, and trust. Further, we encourage employees to report any behaviors or activities that they believe to be unethical or unlawful to senior management, the Legal Department or through the organisation’s 24-hour support line.
Because of the nature of the services we provide as well as the policies and procedures in place that govern employee conduct, we consider ourselves to be at high low risk of slavery, unlawful child labor or human trafficking existing within our own business. Regarding our supply chains, we make little use of services demanding unskilled labor and those products and services we use are sourced from reputable suppliers. We will remain vigilant to minimize any exposure to the risk of slavery or human trafficking in our supply chain and will periodically assess our vendor contracts and sourcing processes to ensure that our zero tolerance towards slavery, unlawful child labor and human trafficking is upheld.
